Rahier Rahman is the founder and CEO of Turn, an innovative HR tech company whose products are revolutionizing talent acquisition. Turn offers two key products: first, an award-winning background screening platform that is tailor-made for the high-volume hiring of hourly, shift-based, or independently contracted workers. Second, a worker acquisition platform that leverages AI-driven worker sourcing and autonomous engagement from a proprietary database of over 60 million hourly workers in the U.S. Together, Turn’s products help high-volume employers efficiently scale their workforces nationwide. In 2022, Turn was recognized by the Inc 5000 as the #169 fastest growing private company in America and the #8 fastest growing private company in HR tech.
Rahman was also founder and CEO of the startup Pangea Money Transfer, a global remittance and underbanked financial services provider, acquired by Enova International in 2021.
Previously, Rahman was CFO at Schatz Development where he was a founding member of the team that built Domu.com, Chicago’s fastest growing rental listing service.
In 2016, Rahman was presented the American Immigration Council’s Chicago Immigrant Achievement Award for “incredible achievements as an American immigrant entrepreneur.”
An early influencer in Chicago’s tech scene, Rahman was recognized in Crain’s “40 Under 40” list in 2015, a presenter at the Chicago Venture Summit and member of both the ChicagoNEXT FinTech Council and World Business Chicago, a public-private economic development agency.
Rahman’s public appearances have also included Chicago Founders TV and Bootstrapping in America. In 2014, Rahman was VIP Speaker and Guest of the US State Department, Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Marrakech, Morocco.
Rahman earned his MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
As a teenager, growing up in the Philippines, Rahman was lauded by first lady Amelita Ramos who credited him with single-handedly “raising the standard of education” in the country through his involvement in the PREP (Promotion of Rural Education in the Philippines) Program that he built while in high school.
