When I worked at the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, it was also an opportunity to get my Masters of Arts in Journalism. While my first jobs out of college were in marketing and public relations, the rigorous work in media, cultural studies and research methodology had very little to do with writing web copy, marketing collateral and press releases. It wasn’t until some time later when digital analytics spurred today’s content renaissance that it all came together.
